 COUNTRY MUSIC AND THE BIBLE  -  { PT.  2 }  -  Look at what God says:  EPHESIANS  5:19--20 - Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;  -  God said speaking in SPIRITUAL songs. There is nothing spiritual about a tear in your beer. Most of your country music singers even indulge in alcohol and drugs along with adultery and fornication. Many end up broke, become alcoholics, drugs addicts, and suicidal. For a Christian to build his or her life around this type of life style is contrary to the Word of God. As a Christian, we are to watch the kind of diet we feed the inner man. Honky Tonk music may excite the flesh but it will do nothing to bring you closer to God. On the contrary, it will do much to take your heart far away from God. You can measure your spiritual temperature by the kind of music you listen to. If you listen to country music your mind will stay in the gutter and not on the Lord. The inner man must be fed on the things of God and not on this world to remain spiritual.
